JBA, Indian Ambassador discuss strengthening economic relations

Jordan Daily – The Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) and the Indian Ambassador to Jordan discussed ways to strengthen economic ties and explore new partnerships between the two countries, the association said on Wednesday.

Hamdi Tabbaa, Chairman of JBA, emphasized the importance of deepening economic cooperation between Jordan and India to boost mutual benefits. He highlighted opportunities to attract more Indian investments to Jordan and increase trade by fostering greater engagement between private sector companies.

Tabbaa pointed to promising investment prospects in key sectors such as information technology, artificial intelligence, energy, transportation, and tourism, backed by Jordan’s new investment environment law.

Indian Ambassador Manish Chauhan called for expanded cooperation, particularly in technology transfer, training, and investment integration. Chauhan noted that Indian investments in Jordan are among the largest in the region.

Trade between Jordan and India reached approximately $3.3 billion in 2023, with Jordan’s key exports including chemical products, fertilizers, aluminum, and pharmaceuticals.
