Jordan Daily – The first EU-Jordan Business Forum, themed “Digital & Green Jordan: Pioneering the Future of Business,” was successfully held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
The European Union, in partnership with the Government of Jordan, organized the forum held on Tuesday, which underscored the EU’s commitment to supporting Jordan’s political reform and economic modernization.
In a statemnt released by Jordan Exports (JE) ,valuable investment and export potentials for Jordan were highlighted at the forum, with a focus on Renewable Energy & Green Hydrogen, Digital and ICT, and export opportunities to the EU market.
Jordan Exports , a public-private export institution established to coordinate national export activities, played a significant role in the forum, contributing to two of its four sessions and emphasizing the importance of exports for Jordan’s future economic development.
Dr. Wissam Al Rabadi, Chairman of JE, discussed the challenges Jordan faces due to the current regional situation and the Kingdom’s ability to manage conflicts and push forward positive agendas , noting that Jordan, as a safe center for investors and exporters, is gaining recognition for complementing and securing supply chains, particularly for the European markets.
The forum also explored several key topics, including Jordan’s innovative potential, the role of green finance in job creation, the advanced telecom infrastructure, a favorable tax framework for ICT exports, and the importance of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) in accessing international markets.
Dana Alzubi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, and a distinguished board member of JE, highlighted the positive impact of the Jordan-US FTA as an example for other agreements and future adaptations.
Eng. Omar Al Qaryouti, CEO of JE, emphasized the need to keep pace with global trends such as green trade and e-commerce to ensure successful exports , stressing the importance of bridging the knowledge gap about product requirements and foreign markets.
Jordan Exports , as the umbrella organization for designing, developing, and promoting exports in Jordan, uses innovative and demand-driven approaches to empower Jordanian companies, accelerate export development, increase export volume, and connect Jordan to the world, the statement noted.
