Jordan Daily – The Greater Jerash Municipality’s Department of Health and Environment has taken a proactive measure to safeguard the well-being of festival visitors during the Jerash Festival. Recently, it imposed a ban on the entry of certain foods and food ingredients, considering the prevailing high temperatures.
Mohammad Al-Ayasra, the director of the department , said that the prohibited foods include mayonnaise, fried chicken (broasted), shawarma, hummus, dairy products, and cheese .
The decision to prohibit these foods was primarily taken to ensure the safety of festival attendees. The extreme heat could pose health risks when certain perishable foods are left unrefrigerated for extended periods.
To address this concern, the department is conducting three daily rounds within the festival to maintain strict compliance with the safety measures, Al-Ayasra noted.
