Jordan Daily – The Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) has sent 17 planes of humanitarian aid to Gaza as part of its campaign “For Our People in Gaza” since the start of the crisis in the Strip, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Jordanian Armed Forces and the U.N. agencies UNRWA and UNICEF.
The planes carried various types of aid, including medical supplies, medicines, dialysis patients’ drugs, food parcels, ready meals, clothes, hygiene kits, baby milk and children’s medical items.
The relief, medical and clothing supplies were handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for entry through the Rafah crossing into Gaza, where they were delivered and distributed to the health sector and the official bodies working in Gaza through the Palestinian Red Crescent and the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
JHCO Secretary General Dr. Hussein Al-Shibli said: “Since the beginning of the recent events, we have worked to send the needs and overcome the challenges we faced in terms of quantity and speed to secure them for our people in Gaza and support the different sectors that were affected and some of which went out of service.”
He added that the JHCO worked in coordination and cooperation with a number of international, regional, local and private organizations, initiatives, and government agencies to collect cash and in-kind donations according to the needs lists received from Gaza.
Al-Shibli also said that the plane shipments were accompanied by land convoys carrying 286 tons of food parcels, ready meals, relief items and clothes.
