Jordan and Iran call for ceasefire in Gaza, discuss drug smuggling

Jordan Daily – Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir Abdollahian spoke by phone on Monday and called for an immediate halt to the Israeli attacks on Gaza and the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave.

They also discussed the threat of drug trafficking from Syria to Jordan and agreed to maintain dialogue on regional issues, as reported by Jordan News Agency , Petra.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian praised Jordan’s King Abdullah for his efforts to defend the Palestinian cause and rights, and conveyed the greetings of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, the statement said.

Safadi reciprocated the greetings and expressed Jordan’s readiness to work with all parties to achieve stability, security and peace in the region, it added.
