Jordan Daily – The First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House in Jordan, Ahmed Khalayleh, and the Irish House of Representatives Speaker, Sean O Fearghaoil, met on Friday to discuss strengthening parliamentary relations between the two nations.
In a meeting held at the Irish House of Representatives, Khalayleh and Fearghaoil delved into a range of topics, with a particular focus on political, economic, and administrative modernization efforts in Jordan.
They also addressed the challenges posed by the presence of Syrian refugees in Jordan and Ukrainian refugees in Ireland, as well as the responsibilities of countries in providing essential services to these displaced populations.
The discussion further touched on the around the role His Majesty King Abdullah II plays in promoting stability and peace, even in the face of challenging regional dynamics.
They also discussed the mutual interest in attracting skilled Jordanian workers to Ireland. Speaker Fearghaoil expressed Ireland’s keen desire to welcome Jordanian workers to contribute to the nation’s workforce.
