Jordan Daily – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has condemned attempts by Israeli occupation police to evacuate the Cows’ Garden , which is part of the properties of the Armenian Church in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, according to an official statement on Monday.
The ministry described the actions as “null and void” under international law and a violation of the existing historical and legal status in occupied Jerusalem.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, said that the provocative actions against Christians in occupied Jerusalem and the attacks on Christian clergy are a blatant and unacceptable violation of international law, and the historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its sanctities.
Al-Qudah called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and stop the ongoing and continuous Israeli violations of international law.
He emphasized that the Armenian Quarter is an integral part of the Old City of Jerusalem and its walls, and it is a site registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981 at the request of Jordan, and was included in 1982 on the list of endangered heritage due to illegal Israeli actions and procedures in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Al-Qudah affirmed that all Israeli actions aimed at changing the character of the Holy City and its legal status are null and void, and a clear violation of the relevant international covenants and resolutions.
