Jordan condemns Israel’s assassination of Hamas leader in Tehran

Jordan Daily – Jordan condemned Israel on Wednesday in the strongest terms for the assassination of Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, Iran. The government labeled the act a violation of international law and humanitarian law, describing it as an escalatory crime likely to increase tension and chaos in the region.

Dr. Sufian Al-Qudah, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, reaffirmed Jordan’s steadfast stance against violations of sovereignty and international law, condemning political assassinations, violence, and terrorism regardless of their motives.

Al-Qudah emphasized the international community’s responsibility to take immediate action to halt Israeli aggression against Gaza and Israetionl’s violas of international law and United Nations resolutions. He stressed the imperative of protecting regional security and stability from the catastrophic consequences of ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza, and its worsening violations of Palestinian rights and crimes against them.

Jordan extended condolences to the Palestinian state and its people, as well as to the family of Dr. Haniyeh and his companions.

Additionally, the spokesperson condemned Israel’s aggression on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, yesterday, and its continuous violations of Lebanese sovereignty. He warned that these crimes would only lead to further regional war escalation and threaten regional and international peace and security.
