Jordan Daily – The Republic of Cyprus expressed its gratitude to Jordan for the swift and positive response of the Jordanian Armed Forces, according to a statement released by the Cyprus Embassy in Jordan on its official Facebook account.
The commendation was conveyed by Ambassador Michalis Ioannou in a meeting with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Major General Yousef Hunaiti. The Jordanian military’s response involved the temporary deployment of two Royal Jordanian Air Force firefighting helicopters, along with their 18-member crews, to Paphos, Cyprus, in anticipation of the summer season.
In addition to expressing gratitude, the meeting between Ioannou and Hunaiti also served as an opportunity to review the bilateral cooperation between Cyprus and Jordan in the fields of security and defence. The move underscores the strengthening ties between the two nations, particularly in areas of mutual concern, the statement noted.
