Jordan Daily – Jordan’s digital payments sector continued rapid growth this year, with transactions through instant payment systems reaching a record JD 23.2 billion in the first seven months of 2025, official data showed.

The figure marks a 40% increase from 16.5 billion dinars in the same period last year, according to Al-Ghad newspaper. Growth was driven by three main platforms: CliQ, JoMoPay and eFAWATEERcom.

CliQ led the market with payments worth JD10.75 billion, followed by eFAWATEERcom at 8.89 billion and JoMoPay at 3.56 billion. Total payment transactions across the systems reached around 180 million, up 69% from 106 million a year earlier.

Jordan, a country of about 11 million people, has more than 8 million mobile phone users and over 11 million internet subscriptions, boosting adoption of digital services.

eFAWATEERcom recorded the largest user base with 4.8 million users by end-July, followed by JoMoPay with 2.63 million. CliQ counted 1.92 million users, the data showed.

The surge underscores Jordanians’ increasing reliance on digital payments in daily and business transactions, in line with global trends of shifting away from cash.
