Jordan eases entry rules to boost tourism – Interior Ministry

By : JD

Jordan Daily – Jordan has introduced new entry procedures to boost tourism and attract investors, the Interior Ministry’s spokesperson Tareq Al-Majali said on Monday.

Under the new rules, foreign and Arab nationals residing in GCC countries, the U.S., Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and all European countries can enter Jordan without prior approval if they hold valid residency permits for at least four months. The measures also apply to Syrians residing in Europe.

Jordan has expanded its list of eligible European countries and now allows nationals of South Sudan and Libya to enter without prior approval, aiming to boost medical tourism.

Holders of Schengen or U.S. visas can enter Jordan whether they have used the visas or not. Travelers can also obtain a multiple-entry visa valid for five years, allowing stays of up to three months per visit.

Domestic workers accompanying Jordanian sponsors living in the GCC or traveling with GCC citizens can enter with a temporary three-month residence permit.

Majali urged visitors to use the ministry’s online services at www.moi.gov.jo and said the measures align with Jordan’s efforts to enhance its status as a key tourism and investment hub.
