Jordan evacuates 71 citizens from Gaza amid conflict

Jordan Daily – Jordan evacuated 71 of its citizens from the Gaza Strip on Saturday, allowing them to cross into Egypt through the Rafah border, the foreign ministry said in a statement.

The ministry spokesman Sufian Al-Qudah said 30 of the evacuees were taken by ship from Egypt’s Nuweiba port to Jordan’s Aqaba port, where they received medical care and assistance from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority. They were then transported to Amman , the statement added.

Al-Qudah also said 41 other evacuees were taken to Cairo, where they would fly back to Jordan as soon as possible.
