Jordan Daily – Jordan said on Thursday, efforts are underway to evacute 92 of its citizens from the Gaza Strip, where a war between Israel and Hamas has killed thousands of people.
The foreign ministry said in a statement that the Jordanians, who were registered on its lists, crossed the Rafah border into Egypt with the help of the Jordanian embassy in Cairo and the crossing authorities.
The statement said the embassy team is providing the evacuees with assistance and medical care and arranging their return to Jordan as soon as possible.
It said the total number of Jordanians who had been evacuated from Gaza since the start of the conflict on May 10 was 525, out of 1,010 who had registered with the ministry.
