Jordan Daily – The Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) has wrapped up its participation in the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT) , held in Moscow from March 19 to 21, marking a significant step in promoting Jordan as a preferred tourist destination for Russians.

The event, which is the largest travel event in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, saw the participation of 12 travel and tourism offices, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Royal Jordanian Airlines, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Russia, Khaled Al-Shawabkeh, according to a statement to Jordan Daily.

The JTB showcased a distinctive pavilion that highlighted Jordan’s diverse tourist attractions, including its stunning archaeological sites and rich cultural and religious experiences. The pavilion drew considerable attention from visitors, providing a comprehensive overview of what Jordan has to offer as a tourist destination.

“The Exhibition is a real opportunity for tourism promotion for the Kingdom,” said Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, Director-General of the JTB. He added that it is an ideal platform for meetings and tourism marketing, allowing future tourism operators and media to gain a deeper understanding of the Jordanian tourism market and its appeal to Russian tourists.

Arabiyat emphasized the JTB’s commitment to promoting Jordanian tourism and attracting more Russian tourists. “We are excited to increase the number of tourists to the Kingdom and achieve common goals in the field of tourism and travel,” he said.

He also noted that the JTB’s participation in the exhibition is expected to enhance tourism relations and increase awareness of Jordanian tourist destinations among the Russian public. This participation could lead to the signing of agreements between travel and tourism offices to boost the number of Russian tourists visiting Jordan, thereby enhancing the tourism sector.

Arabiyat confirmed that the goals of Jordan’s participation in the exhibition include building partnerships and enhancing cooperation with Russian companies and tourist agents, facilitated by the existence of a direct flight line from Russia to Jordan.

He concluded by expressing optimism that the outcomes of Jordan’s participation in the exhibition will contribute to an increase in the number of Russian tourists visiting Jordan in the future, further solidifying Jordan’s status as a preferred tourist destination in the Russian market.
