Jordan Daily – The Kingdom will be hit by a heatwave starting Friday, with hot and dry conditions expected to persist through Thursday, Aug. 14, due to a mass of extremely hot air moving in from the Arabian Peninsula, the Jordan Meteorological Department said.
Raed Rafed Al-Khattab, Director of the Meteorological Department, said the heatwave will push temperatures significantly above seasonal averages by 6 to 7 degrees celsius.
In the capital Amman, the high is expected to reach 35°C on Thursday, rising to 40°C on Friday and peaking at 41°C on Saturday, before slightly easing back to 40°C on Sunday.
The heatwave is forecast to affect most parts of the Kingdom, with Department urging the public to take necessary precautions.
