Jordan finalizes preparations for World Cup qualifier against Iraq

Jordan Daily – Jordan’s national football team completed its preparations ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying match against Iraq, set to kick off at 9:15 p.m. local time at Amman International Stadium.

The team held its final training session on Monday evening at the match venue, under the guidance of head coach Jamal Sellami, with both local and international media in attendance.

Jordan have already secured its place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup — the first in the country’s history — becoming the first Arab country to confirm qualification for the expanded tournament.

The team currently sit second in its group with 16 points, trailing leaders South Korea, who have 19. Iraq are third with 12 points, followed by Oman (10), Palestine (9), and Kuwait (5).
