Jordan golf team begins Ayla training camp ahead of 34th Jordan Open

Jordan Daily – Jordan national golf team began a closed training camp on Saturday at Ayla Golf Club in Aqaba as part of final preparations for the 34th Jordan Open, scheduled for Sept. 4-6.

The camp, organized by the Jordan Golf Federation, aims to sharpen players’ technical, physical and mental readiness. Intensive on-course sessions will help athletes adapt to the layout and conditions of Ayla’s championship course, while also building team cohesion and psychological resilience, officials said.

Head coach Amer Radi called the camp a “strategic step” toward building a competitive side capable of delivering strong results and raising Jordan’s profile on the regional and international golf scene. He said the technical staff is focused on performance evaluation, equipment readiness and selecting players best suited to represent the country.

“The camp is not only about physical training,” Radi said. “It is also about mental preparation, unity of thought, and instilling confidence to compete at the highest level.”

Ayla, the Red Sea resort development hosting the training, has provided full access to its facilities and support staff. Mansour Kabariti, public relations director at Ayla Oasis Development Company, said the initiative reflects a strategic partnership with the federation and fits into Aqaba’s 2025 events agenda to position the city as a global sports tourism destination.

“Our role goes beyond providing facilities,” Kabariti said. “We offer logistical, medical and technical support to ensure professional preparation of the national team. Investing in sports means investing in the next generation of Jordanian athletes.”

The camp also serves as a platform for daily performance analysis and strengthening team bonds through shared living and interaction, Radi noted. Success, he added, depends heavily on the players’ commitment to intensive schedules and guidance from coaching and medical staff.
