Jordan Daily – The Jordan national football team will host Kuwait at 9 p.m. Thursday at Amman International Stadium, kicking off their Group B campaign in the final round of AFC qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
Jordan, playing in front of home fans, will be under pressure to secure a win. Head coach Jamal Sellami led the team’s final training session Wednesday at Petra Stadium, focusing on player readiness and finalizing the starting lineup for the match.
Sellami, who recently replaced fellow Moroccan coach Hussein Amouta, is aiming to lead Jordan to a strong start. The team will need to maintain defensive stability while launching organized attacks in search of an early goal to ease the pressure.
Kuwait, under new management, has not played any friendly matches ahead of the qualifier. The team prepared with a 10-day training camp in the UAE.
The two teams have met 31 times in their history. Kuwait has won 13 matches, while Jordan has won seven. Eleven matches have ended in draws.
