Jordan Daily – The Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF), the professional entity for the insurance sector in Jordan, has become an associate member of the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI), the global association for marine and transport insurers.
JIF was established in 1989 by a Royal Decree and represents 22 insurance companies in Jordan, offering a variety of services including marine insurance, motor insurance, fire and earthquake insurance, life and medical insurance, and takaful insurance. JIF also provides training and development for its members and organises the annual Aqaba Conference, a regional forum for insurance professionals.
JIF’s main representative to IUMI is Dr Mouyad Alklob, the Federation Director, who will participate in the activities and events of the international body, according to a statement sent to the Jordan Daily.
IUMI is a non-profit organisation that aims to promote and protect the interests of the marine insurance industry, and to enhance the understanding and knowledge of marine and transport insurance issues. IUMI has more than 40 national and regional marine insurance associations as members, representing over 90% of the world’s marine insurance premium.
IUMI welcomed JIF into its membership and expressed its hope for an active and rewarding partnership
