Jordan Daily – Jordan has made unprecedented progress in digital transformation and e-government services, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami Al-Smeirat said.
Speaking at a session organized by the ministry in collaboration with the OECD under the EU-funded project “Together for Accountable and Transparent Public Administration in Jordan,” Smeirat highlighted the country’s achievements in digitizing 1,728 government services, representing 72% of total services. More than 500 services are now available via the “Sanad” app and online platforms, with plans to reach 80% by year-end and 100% by 2026.
The number of digital ID users has surpassed 1.8 million. Key initiatives include the digital hospital for remote healthcare, e-passports, tax invoicing systems, and electronic portals at Queen Alia International Airport.
Jordan has also launched an open data platform with over 3,800 datasets, the “Tawasul” e-participation portal, nine comprehensive government service centers, and upgraded the unified national service registry. The projects aim to enhance transparency, accountability, and citizen satisfaction, which currently stands at 98%, Smeirat noted.
