Jordan , Malaysia discuss trade, economic, and education cooperation at World Economic Forum

Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Al-Khasawneh met with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim on the sidelines of the special meeting of the World Economic Forum currently underway in Riyadh.

According to a statement, Khasawneh discussed with Ibrahim ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the region, particularly the Israeli aggression on Gaza.

Al-Khasawneh expressed Jordan’s interest in developing cooperative relations with Malaysia in all fields, pointing to the importance of holding the first meeting of the Jordanian-Malaysian Trade Committee to discuss prospects for trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The Prime Minister also expressed Jordan’s interest and welcome in attracting more Malaysian students studying in Jordanian universities, where at present, around two thousand Malaysian students, both male and female, are pursuing their education.

Al-Khasawneh briefed his Malaysian counterpart on the efforts made by Jordan, under the leadership of King Abdullah II, to stop the brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the need to provide protection for civilians and deliver humanitarian and medical aid urgently and sustainably.

For his part, the Malaysian Prime Minister affirmed his keenness to enhance bilateral relations and expand the horizons of joint cooperation with Jordan in all fields in the service of the interests of the two countries and peoples.

He expressed his appreciation for the efforts of King Abdullah II in enhancing security, stability, and peace in the region.
