Jordan receives $134 mln from IMF, repays $115.65 mln in H1 – Fund data

Jordan Daily – Jordan received 97.8 million Special Drawing Rights (SDRs), or about $134 million, from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the end of June under its four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF), according to IMF data released Saturday.

The transfer is part of the broader agreement aimed at supporting economic reforms, enhancing financial stability, reducing public debt, and boosting private sector-led growth.

During the first half of 2025, Jordan repaid approximately $115.65 million to the IMF, including 67.9 million SDRs ($93.1 million) in installments tied to previous EFF and Rapid Financing Instrument (RFI) agreements.

Repayments included 8.57 million SDR on March 27, 10.01 million on May 8, and 36.44 million on May 27 under the RFI. Additional payments were made in June totaling 12.86 million SDR.

On May 6, Jordan also paid 16.45 million SDR ($22.55 million) in fees and interest related to prior arrangements.

The EFF program supports structural reforms to improve public financial management, foster inclusive growth, and bolster social safety nets.
