Jordan Daily – Israeli authorities have handed over the body of Maher Al-Jazi, a Jordanian national who carried out a shooting at the Israeli-controlled King Hussein /Allenby Bridge border crossing nine days ago, resulting in the deaths of three Israeli security personnel.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates confirmed the it had received the body of Maher Al-Jazi, which will be returned to his family for burial in Jordan.
In a statement on Tuesday, ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah said Jordan is continuing efforts, in coordination with the relevant authorities, to secure the release of two Jordanian citizens, Musleh al-Awdat and Hussein al-Naimat, who were detained following the Sept. 8 shooting at the border crossing.
