Jordan recloses airspace; Royal Jordanian diverts flights

By : JD staff writer

Jordan Daily – The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) announced late Saturday it has temporarily suspended all air traffic in the country’s airspace until further notice, citing security concerns linked to rising tensions in the region.

Haitham Misto, head of the CARC, said the move is a precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding civil aviation and passenger safety amid ongoing regional developments.

The decision follows reports of Iranian strikes on Israel, which also triggered air raid sirens in parts of Jordan.

Royal Jordanian Airlines said inbound flights were being diverted to alternative destinations in compliance with the CARC’s directive.

“The rerouting of incoming flights is necessary to ensure the safety of flight operations and passengers,” the airline said in a statement, adding that it remains committed to maintaining high service standards under the current circumstances.

Passengers were advised to check the airline’s website and mobile app for the latest updates on flight statuses.
