Jordan, Saudi Arabia explore deeper economic cooperation

Jordan Daily –  Jordan and Saudi Arabia are working to advance their economic partnership, following high-level meetings held in Riyadh this week.

Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, met with Hassan Al-Huwaizi the Chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce to discuss boosting trade, investment, and private sector collaboration.

The talks were also attended by Jordan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Dr. Haitham Abu Al-Foul, along with senior representatives from Saudi chambers.

Al-Haj Tawfiq emphasized the need to enhance cooperation through the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council and invited Saudi companies to invest in Jordan, particularly in logistics and strategic industries.

Al-Huwaizi expressed strong interest in increasing Saudi investment in Jordan, citing its location and economic potential. He announced plans to lead a large Saudi delegation to Jordan next month and outlined interest in developing warehouse hubs in Jordan’s free zones to support regional exports.

The two sides agreed on holding joint business council meetings twice a year and committed to expanding commercial ties.

In a separate meeting, Al-Haj Tawfiq and Riyadh Chamber Chairman Abdullah Al-Obeikan agreed to sign a twinning agreement between the chambers of Amman and Riyadh to foster knowledge exchange and support digital transformation.

Ambassador Abu Al-Foul affirmed the embassy’s support for Saudi enterprises exploring opportunities in Jordan and praised the strong political and economic ties between the two countries.
