Jordan sees 4.5% drop in tourism revenue over seven months
Jordan Daily – Jordan’s tourism revenue fell 4.5% in the first seven months of the year, reaching $4.049 billion, according to data from the Central Bank of Jordan. The decline follows a 7.5% drop in tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year.
The data showed steep declines in tourism income from European visitors, down 56.1%, and American tourists, down 42.9%. Revenue from other international tourists also fell by 24.5%. However, tourism income from expatriate Jordanians increased by 7.4%, while visitors from Arab countries contributed 12.7% more than in the previous year.
