Jordan sends aid convoy to Gaza, pledges more support

Jordan Daily – Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) said on Thursday it had delivered a convoy of 24 trucks carrying 427 tons of food and flour to Gaza, where people are suffering from a blockade and recent Israeli attacks.

The convoy, which entered Gaza through the Karam Abu Salem crossing, was sent in cooperation with the Jordanian army and included donations from various groups such as Human Appeal, Al-Imdaad Charitable Society – South Africa, Tkiyet Um Ali, and the UN World Food Program (WFP).

JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli told Petra news agency that the organization is working with the WFP to distribute the aid to needy families in Gaza. He said another plane carrying more aid would leave Jordan for El Arish airport in Egypt and then cross into Gaza through the Rafah border.

Shibli said JHCO would continue to collect donations and coordinate land and air shipments to Gaza, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people.
