Jordan Daily – Jordan will continue and increase humanitarian aid deliveries to the Gaza Strip in the coming period, the Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Hussein Al-Shibli, said on Wednesday.
He stressed Jordan’s commitment to restoring a sustainable relief corridor through the northern crossing to distribute essential food items, including flour, in coordination with the World Food Programme (WFP).
A new aid convoy is expected next week, with efforts underway to expand the volume of assistance. Al-Shibli confirmed that warehouses are sufficiently stocked to sustain large-scale daily deliveries to Gaza.
He noted the severe challenges faced by Gazans due to prolonged border closures and restrictions, which have led to widespread hunger. Despite these obstacles, Jordan has maintained consistent humanitarian efforts under royal directives.
Aid will enter through Gaza’s northern crossing, with WFP overseeing direct distribution via a mechanism that ensures dignity for recipients. Previous Jordanian aid has included ready meals and clean water, even during complete border shutdowns.
On Wednesday, the JHCO, in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces, resumed relief convoys to Gaza, dispatching 40 trucks loaded with essential food supplies. The distribution will target northern Gaza, reaching the most affected families, in cooperation with local partners.
Jordan’s regular and effective humanitarian response has become a critical lifeline for Palestinians in Gaza amid worsening humanitarian conditions, drawing widespread appreciation from residents.
