Jordan warns forced displacement of Palestinians as “act of war”

By :JD

Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reaffirmed that any attempt to forcibly displace Palestinians from the West Bank into Jordan would be considered an act of war, and Jordan would respond accordingly.

Safadi’s remarks came during a press conference on Thursday, following his meeting with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock. He was responding to questions from journalists about videos circulating online showing military movements along Jordan’s borders.

Safadi called on Germany to impose sanctions on Israel amid its ongoing offensive against Palestinians. He noted that Germany has historically been at the forefront of pushing for the enforcement of international law and humanitarian principles.

He urged the country to take clear steps toward imposing sanctions on the Israeli government and officials who promote hatred, incite violence, justify the killing of civilians, and drive the region toward further escalation.

He added, “It is time for Germany to take actions that align with its historical stances and international humanitarian law by sanctioning Israel. It’s evident that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu has not heeded the advice of the U.N. Security Council, the General Assembly, the International Court of Justice, or his Western allies.”

Safadi also warned that escalation would continue unless Netanyahu faces consequences for actions that are “destroying the present and future of the region.”
