Jordan Daily – Government denied on Tuesday that its military has carried out any air strikes inside Syria, and said it is keen to coordinate with Damascus on border security.
Government spokesman Mohannad Mubaidin told Sky News Arabia that Jordan is facing a constant threat from organized smuggling groups that tried to breach the border with Syria, where he said there is no effective authority to maintain order.
He said Jordan has been defending its borders alone for three years, and had warned regional and international powers that the situation in Syria could have serious repercussions for the whole area.
He accused some forces and groups of wanting to hold the region hostage to their own agendas, without naming them.
