Jordan Daily – Jordan on Wednesday welcomed a UNESCO resolution urging Israel to halt illegal actions in Jerusalem’s Old City.

The resolution, passed during the Board’s 221st session in Paris under the agenda item “Occupied Palestine,” reiterates calls on Israel, the occupying power, to halt all illegal and unilateral measures in the Old City that threaten its exceptional cultural and historical value.

The decision, adopted unanimously by UNESCO’s Executive Board in Paris, reaffirms the city’s cultural and historical significance and calls for preserving its heritage.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the move aligns with international resolutions and reflects Jordan’s firm stance on protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
