Jordan Daily – A humanitarian aid convoy, jointly operated by the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), successfully entered Gaza on Monday.
The convoy, comprising 32 trucks, was equipped in collaboration with the World Food Program and received support from various organizations, including the Indonesian Students Association and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
The convoy’s cargo includes essential food parcels and relief materials, such as tents and medical supplies, which will be distributed in Gaza through local partner organizations.
JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli emphasized the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza, particularly highlighting the severe shortage of blood units in the region.
In response, the JHCO launched a blood donation campaign in cooperation with Jordanian professional unions. Collected blood donations will be transported via land convoys to supply hospitals and health centers in Gaza, aiding in the treatment of the wounded.
The overwhelming turnout at blood donation centers reflects the deep humanitarian sentiments of the Jordanian people toward Gaza. To date, a total of 2,302 land trucks and 53 planes via El Arish International Airport have delivered crucial aid, Shibli noted.
