Jordan Daily – The Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission has announced a temporary and precautionary closure of airspace to all incoming, outgoing, and transit flights starting from 20:00 UTC,11:00 PM local time, for several upcoming hours.
The commission stated that this decision will be continuously updated and reviewed based on developments.
The decision was made in the interest of maintaining the safety and security of civil aviation in Jordanian airspace, in light of escalating risks in the region and after risk assessment in accordance with globally followed standards, the commission added.
Eyewitnesses confirmed the evacuation of Queen Alia International Airport of passengers and employees, and the cancellation of all flights.
