Jordan Daily – Captain Haitham Misto, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, assured on Wednesday that Jordanian airspace remains fully operational, with air traffic to and from the Kingdom proceeding as usual.
He noted that any adjustments to flight schedules are routine and not indicative of broader issues.
In response to reports of Egypt instructing its airlines to steer clear of Iranian airspace from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Captain Misto offered clarification. He explained that Iran had announced plans for military exercises on August 7 and 8, affecting a limited area of roughly 10 square miles. Iran had asked airlines to avoid this zone during specific times at lower altitudes.
Captain Misto described Egypt’s directive as a standard precautionary measure following Iran’s request.
