Jordanian citizens denied UK entry,Ministry seeks expedited return

Jordan Daily – Jordanian citizens have been detained at several London airports after being denied entry into the UK, according to the Operations and Consular Affairs Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The denial of entry was due to violations of residency and immigration laws related to hotel reservations and instructions for entering British territory.

The Ministry is actively liaising with the relevant British authorities to expedite the return of the detained citizens to Jordan and to ascertain the reasons for their denied entry. Sufian Qudah, the Director of the Operations and Consular Affairs, confirmed the Ministry’s involvement in the matter.

In light of these events, Qudah has urged Jordanians planning to travel to the UK to comply with the new Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) instructions for entry into Britain.

The ETA is a new requirement for visa-free foreign nationals travelling to the UK.
