The JPA said in a statement on Wednesday that Israel was trying to intimidate and silence the media by targeting their families and destroying their homes and workplaces.
It said more than 19 journalists, both men and women, had been killed in Gaza since Israel began its offensive on October 7, following a Palestinian attack on a Jerusalem synagogue that Israel called the “Al-Aqsa Flood”.
The JPA also criticized the international community, human rights groups and media organizations for failing to condemn Israel’s actions and protect the rights of the Palestinian people and journalists.
It expressed its sympathy to the families of the victims, especially to Wael Al-Dahdouh, an Al-Jazeera correspondent who lost several members of his family in an Israeli strike on Wednesday.
