Jordan Daily – Jordan’s envoy to the United Nations urged the Security Council to pressure Israel to end its war on Gaza, which he said was causing a humanitarian disaster and threatening regional stability.
Ambassador Mahmoud Daifallah Al-Hamoud said Israel was delaying the delivery of vital aid to the besieged Palestinian enclave, where more than 8,300 people have been killed and 21,000 wounded by Israeli airstrikes.
He asked the council to act on its principles and purposes as enshrined in the U.N. Charter and stop the aggression.
He also called on the council to heed the cries of the people of Gaza and uphold justice and humanity.
“I have not heard of an occupying state claiming to be a victim as Israel does,” he said in his speech.
