Jordan’s industrial exports rise in H1, led by garments and fertilizers

Jordan Daily – Jordan’s national industrial exports, led by garments, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, phosphates and potash, posted solid growth in the first half of this year, helping boost overall exports, official data showed.

Figures from the Department of Statistics’ foreign trade report showed that six key industrial goods accounted for 56% of total national exports, valued at 4.379 billion dinars in the January–June period. The main items were garments, fertilizers, jewellery, pharmaceuticals, phosphates and raw potash.

Garment exports topped the list, rising 8.2% to 831 million dinars from 768 million a year earlier. Fertilizer exports increased 10.2% to 487 million dinars from 442 million, while pharmaceutical exports gained 10% to 308 million dinars from 280 million in the same period last year.
