Jordan’s instant payment transactions hit JOD 4.95 billion in H1 2024

Jordan Daily – The total number of transactions executed through the instant payment system “CliQ” in the first half of this year reached 32.9 million, with a total value of JOD 4.95 billion, according to data from the Jordan Payment and Clearing Company (JoPACC).

In June, the value of transactions conducted through the instant payment system was JOD 963 million, up from JOD 923 million in May, representing a 4.4% increase.

According to reports compiled by JoPACC for the past month and seen by the Jordan Daily, the total number of “CliQ” users in Jordan rose to 1.43 million by the end of June, up from 1.39 million in May, marking a 2.6% increase.

In June, 6.43 million transactions were executed through the instant payment system via banks, compared to 6.32 million transactions in May, an increase of 1.7%.

The report revealed that 5.6 million transactions were for money transfers, accounting for 86.8% of the total volume of transactions, with a value of JOD 796 million. The remaining 846,000 transactions, representing 13.2% and valued at JOD 167 million, were purchases. The average value of money transfer transactions was JOD 150.

The report also indicated that 96.6% of the system’s clients were Jordanians, totaling 1.38 million people, while 3.4% were non-Jordanians, numbering 48,600 people. Additionally, 62.8% of users were male, with 898,000 male users, and 34.7% were female, with a total of 496,000 female users.
