Jordan Daily – Jordan’s oil production plummeted by 46.4% in 2023, with output falling to 43,988 barrels, down from 94,675 barrels in the previous year, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. This marks a continued decline from 107,880 barrels in 2021 and 97,714 barrels in 2020.
In response to dwindling production, Jordan inked a “Drilling and Services” agreement with the UAE’s ADNOC to enhance output from the Hamzah oil field and explore new wells. However, daily output from Hamzah remains modest, averaging just 200 barrels.
To offset the shortfall, Jordan imported 9.2 million barrels of oil via Aqaba and 3.8 million barrels from Iraq under a bilateral agreement renewed earlier this year.
