JSMO , Malaysian Ambassador discuss Halal certification

Jordan Daily – Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) is seeking recognition from Malaysian Halal Development Corporation , according to a statement released on Saturday.

The General Director of JSMO, Engineer Abeer Al-Zhair, discussed with the Malaysian Ambassador in Amman, Mohammed Nasri bin Abdul Rahman, and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance cooperation between Jordan and Malaysia, particularly in the field of granting Halal certificates.

Al-Zhair expressed JSMO’s readiness to take necessary measures to facilitate the export of Jordanian products to foreign markets and welcomed the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries.

She highlighted that JSMO, which grants Halal certificates for food according to a mechanism that respects product quality and compliance with Islamic law, has received international accreditation from several entities, including the Emirates International Accreditation Center.

The Malaysian ambassador pointed out the growing market for Halal products in Malaysia and Asian markets, expressing his country’s interest in enhancing cooperation in this field with JSMO.

He confirmed his interest in following up on the recognition of JSMO for granting Halal certificates for food and expressed readiness to provide support to JSMO in the field of training on granting Halal certificates for cosmetics.
