Kelantan State Government signs MoUs to boost educational collaboration with Jordan

Jordan Daily – The Kelantan State Government of Malaysia, led by YB Dato’ Haji Wan Roslan bin Wan Hamat, Chairman of the Education, Higher Education, Green Technology, Digital, and Innovation Committee, has taken a significant step to enhance educational opportunities for Kelantanese students.

During their official visit to Jordan, the delegation successfully signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Applied Science University (ASU) and the World Islamic Science & Education University (WISE) .

Facilitated by Education Malaysia Jordan office, the MoUs pave the way for Kelantanese students to pursue higher education in Jordan at preferential tuition rates. This landmark initiative reflects the Kelantan State Government’s dedication to providing access to quality education and fostering academic partnerships with Jordanian institutions.

The delegation included YBhg Dato’ Haji Abdullah bin Ya’kub, Member of the Board of Yayasan Kelantan Darul Naim (YAKIN), along with other officials from the Kelantan State Government. Their collective presence reflects the state’s unified commitment to advancing education and collaboration internationally.

H.E. Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan, applauded the achievement, stating, “The signing of these MoUs demonstrates the enduring strength of the educational and diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Jordan. These agreements will create invaluable opportunities for Kelantanese students while solidifying our mutual commitment to academic excellence.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radzuwan Ab Rashid, Minister Counsellor of Education at the Embassy of Malaysia in Amman, remarked, “This MoU represents a significant milestone in Kelantan-Jordan relations. Education Malaysia Jordan is proud to have facilitated this partnership, which will benefit Kelantanese students and strengthen collaboration between our nations’ higher education sectors.”

Adding to this, YB Dato’ Haji Wan Roslan bin Wan Hamat, Head of Delegation and Chairman of the Kelantan State Government’s Education Committee, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This achievement is a reflection of Kelantan’s commitment to its students’ future. We are deeply appreciative of the warm cooperation extended by Jordanian universities and the support of Education Malaysia Jordan in making this a reality. These partnerships will undoubtedly open new doors for our students to thrive academically and personally.”

During the visit, the delegation also engaged with the Embassy of Malaysia and Education Malaysia Jordan to discuss the welfare and development of Kelantanese students in Jordan, reaffirming their commitment to the community’s wellbeing.
