Jordan Daily – His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday called on Arab and Muslim countries to review all means of joint action in response to the threat posed by the extremist Israeli government, according to a royal court statement.
Delivering Jordan’s address at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit, hosted by Qatar to discuss the recent attack by Israel on Doha, His Majesty said, “The aggression against Qatar shows that the Israeli threat does not stop at borders.”
“Our response must be clear, decisive, and deterrent,” the King continued.
Following is the English translation of His Majesty’s speech:
“In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful,
Prayers and peace be upon our Prophet Mohammad,
Your Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,
Your Highnesses and Excellencies,
Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
I would like to begin by expressing my deepest condolences to Your Highness, my brother Sheikh Tamim, and to the people of Qatar, over the victims of Israel’s brutal aggression against your country.
We condemn this aggression as a flagrant violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation that pushes the region into further conflict.
We stand with you with all our resources, and we support any steps taken to confront this aggression and protect your security, stability, and the safety of your people. Qatar’s security is our security; its stability is our stability; and our support for you is absolute.
My brothers,
Israel’s aggression against Doha came nearly two years since it launched its barbaric war on Gaza. Two years of killing, destruction, and starvation of innocent people. Throughout this period, Israel has violated international law and all human values.
Israel has gone too far in its illegal actions in the West Bank, which impede the two-state solution and undermine prospects for a just peace, as it also continues to threaten the security and stability of Lebanon and Syria.
And now, it has violated Qatar’s sovereignty and security.
The Israeli government continues to cross every line, with impunity, because the international community has allowed it to be above the law.
And we in the Arab and Muslim world must review all our instruments of joint action to confront the threat posed by this extremist Israeli government.
Our summit today must produce practical, actionable decisions to confront this danger, to stop the war on Gaza, to prevent the displacement of Palestinians, to safeguard Jerusalem and its holy sites, and to protect our shared security, our interests, and our future.
The aggression against Qatar shows that the Israeli threat does not stop at borders. Our response must be clear, decisive, and deterrent.
Thank you.”
The Jordanian delegation at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit included Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Jordan’s Permanent Representative at the Arab League Amjad Adaileh, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Qatar Zaid Lozi.
