Korea increases support for Syrian refugees in Jordan

Jordan Daily – The Republic of Korea has increased its support for Syrian refugees in Jordan, increasing its 2024 contribution to UNHCR from USD 1 million to USD 1.5 million.

According to a statement, the funds will aid refugees living in Jordanian communities under the Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP). Korea’s KOICA agency is also contributing USD 6.6 million to improve housing for over 9,000 refugees in the Azraq and Zaatari camps by 2026.

This comes as UNHCR struggles with funding shortages for shelter repairs amid rising refugee vulnerabilities.
