Jordan Daily – Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation said it has temporarily banned the sale of locally manufactured heaters following suffocation incidents that resulted in several deaths.
In a statement, the organisation said it halted sales by the three local factories producing the heaters pending technical test results by the Royal Scientific Society. The organization has seized more than 5,000 heaters so far, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, and sent samples for testing.
The organisation warned manufacturers and retailers against selling the heaters during the suspension period and urged consumers to stop using them until test results and further decisions are announced.
