Lower House committee meets EU ambassador

Jordan Daily – Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee discussed ways to strengthen political, economic and investment ties with the European Union during talks on Wednesday with EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, parliament said.

The committee, chaired by MP Haitham Zayadin, said EU support remains vital for Jordan and stressed the need to attract more European investment, citing the kingdom’s strategic location and stable business environment. Lawmakers also called for activating joint trade agreements.

The meeting reviewed Jordan’s ongoing political, economic and administrative reforms, reaffirming the government’s commitment to improving the investment climate and boosting confidence in the economy.

Chatzisavas highlighted the depth of EU-Jordan relations and pointed to a recent summit in Jordan with EU leaders focused on foreign policy, security, and trade and investment. He said Jordan offers strong opportunities for European investors as a stable regional partner.
