Malaysia certifies Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization as official Halal certifier

Jordan Daily – Malaysia and Jordan marked a significant step forward in halal cooperation with Mr. Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman, Ambassador of Malaysia to Jordan, presenting the Halal Recognition Certificate to Mrs Abeer Zuhair, Director General of the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO).

The Malaysian Ambassador announced that “this recognition, effective from 21 April 2025 and renewable every three years, awarded by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), encompasses food, beverages, and raw materials, establishing new trade opportunities between the two nations.”

He highlighted that “with Malaysia’s halal market projected to reach USD113.2 billion by 2030, today’s recognition reflects our shared commitment to excellence in halal standards and creates exciting opportunities for Jordanian companies to tap into this growing sector while exploring broader regional collaborations.”

Malaysia’s robust halal ecosystem, supported by over 40 years of experience in the halal industry, strengthens its position as a global halal hub, creating a favourable environment for international players looking to expand within the halal market.

This recognition provides Jordanian companies with access to Malaysia’s well-established halal infrastructure, which encompasses certification expertise, logistics networks, and consumer markets. “We are confident this cooperation will elevate our trade relations to the next level and also grant businesses access to the Southeast Asia and Middle Eastern markets,” he added.
