Malaysia supports needy families of Palestinian refugees in Zarqa

Jordan Daily – Malaysian Ambassador Mohammad Nasri Abdul Rahman, accompanied by his spouse and a delegation from the Malaysian embassy in Amman, visited the Palestinian refugee camps of Zarqa Governorate including Hittin, Sukhneh, and Zarqa to distribute aid to 1,400 families.

The ambassador was received by Rafiq Khirfan, Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs, Saleh Abdul Aziz, Head of the Hittin Camp Services Committee, and Mohammad Shdeifat, Director of the Department’s Zarqa office.

 

The visit aimed to distribute in-kind assistance provided by the Malaysian government to needy families in Zarqa Governorate camps.

In his speech, Khirfan congratulated the Malaysian government and people on their National Day, appreciating Malaysia’s continuous support for the Jordanian and Palestinian people, which reflects the strong relations between the two countries.

He also thanked the Malaysian government for its support to UNRWA, which, in cooperation with the Jordanian government, strives to improve the living conditions of Palestinian refugees in the kingdom’s 13 camps.

Ambassador Abdul Rahman expressed gratitude to the Department of Palestinian Affairs for coordinating the visit and facilitating the aid distribution process.He reaffirmed the Malaysian government’s solidarity with the Palestinian people and refugees.

The ambassador and Khirfan toured several homes of needy families in the camp, distributing winter aid packages.
