Malaysian delegation visits Bait Sweima in Jordan

Jordan Daily – A high-level Malaysian delegation, led by Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives Development, visited Jordan’s Balqa Governorate on Wednesday to inspect the “Bait Sweima” tourism project, a venture supported by the Business Development Center (BDC).

According a statement sent to Jordan Daily , the delegation, which included Abdul Fattah Al-Shalabi, Director General of the Jordan Co-operative Corporation, was welcomed by Nayef Stetieh, former Minister of Labor and founder of the BDC.

The group discussed a range of mutual interests, with Benedick expressing a keen interest in sharing expertise and success stories between the cooperatives of both countries.

Stetieh, in the presence of BDC Director General Ghaleb Hijazi, emphasized the importance of backing such developmental projects due to their significant economic and social impact on local communities and their workforce.

Al-Shalabi highlighted the importance of the Malaysian delegation’s participation in the 11th Ministerial Cooperative Conference, noting its enriching contribution to the sessions , underscoring the need to strengthen government-cooperative partnerships, calling it a key outcome of the conference.

Sereen Al-Sharif, head of the association’s management committee, presented an overview of the “Bait Swaima” project and its positive implications for the local community, including job creation and standard of living improvements.
