Jordan Daily – The National Metrology Institute of Malaysia (NMIM), a division under SIRIM Berhad, will host the World Metrology Day (WMD) 2025 Symposium on May 20 in Sepang, in conjunction with the 150th anniversary of the Metre Convention.

This year’s global theme, “Measurements for all times, for all people,” underscores the crucial role of measurement science in technological advancement, innovation, and improving quality of life, NMIM said in a statement received by the Jordan Daily.

The one-day symposium will bring together metrology experts, industry leaders, researchers and policymakers to share developments and insights in the field. It will be followed by a Laboratory Experience Day on May 21, offering participants an inside look at NMIM’s state-of-the-art measurement laboratories and Malaysia’s capabilities in precision measurement.

The Metre Convention, signed in 1875, established a framework for global collaboration in the science of measurement and continues to serve as the foundation for international standards and trade.
